Trump’s Honeymoon

Donald Trump didn’t get much, if any, of a honeymoon when he was elected in 2016. Nineteen minutes after his inauguration, the Washington Post ran this story: “The Campaign To Impeach President Trump Has Begun.”

Of course, the left-wing media won’t give Trump any breaks this time either, but the American people are clearly happy. A new CBS News poll finds that:

• 54% of Americans are satisfied with Trump’s election.
• 59% approve of his handling of the transition.
• 57% approve of his plan to deport illegal aliens.

Listening to the left-wing media, and even some commentators at Fox News and the Wall Street Journal, you would think that Trump’s transition process is just terrible. Once again, they are totally out of step with the American people.

They don’t understand how or why Trump won again, and they see the transition as “proof” that Donald Trump is chaotic and problematic. The truth is the exact opposite.

Trump is bringing the country together. He’s appointing exactly the kind of people his voters expected him to. The editors of the Wall Street Journal and those few Fox commentators who take their cues from the Journal can take a hike!

If they had their way, the GOP nominee would have been a “mainstream” Republican, like Nikki Haley, and she would have brought in a totally predictable cabinet full of establishment careerists.

They would not do one thing that needs to be done or challenge what needs to be challenged to drain the Swamp and defeat the Deep State.

When Trump announced JD Vance as his running mate, the professional pundits suggested it was a horrible pick. They said Trump should have chosen Haley to unite the party and get her voters. Then, came the huge “cat lady controversy,” which allegedly proved what a “weirdo” Vance was.

When Harris announced Tim Walz as her running mate, the media praised him as a down-to-earth Midwestern gun-owner and hunter who would make Harris competitive in the Midwest.

By the time the American people evaluated both vice presidential picks, they realized Vance was perfectly normal and Walz was the weirdo for putting tampons in boys’ bathrooms.
