Trump Or Abraham?
While we're on the subject of foreign policy, State Department employees have reportedly been ordered to not call the peace treaties that Donald Trump brokered between Israel and five Muslim nations the "Abraham Accords." Instead, they are to be called "normalization agreements."
It's hard to know exactly what State Department leftists found most offensive. Perhaps it's because Trump created the name for the deals.
Or perhaps they are offended by Abraham, who was told by God, "I will make you into a great nation. . . I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you."
That was the original "Abraham Accord."
By the way, a new poll by Christians United for Israel finds the American people standing firmly behind the Jewish state and opposed to a number of Biden Administration policies. For example:
- 82% of Americans believe it is important for the United States "to support Israel's sovereignty and existence as a democracy in the Middle East."
- 61% of Americans support cutting off funding to the Palestinian Authority "until it stops incentivizing terrorist attacks against Israel." As we recently reported, the Biden Administration has renewed taxpayer funding of the Palestinian Authority in spite of its continued payments to terrorists and their families.
- Only 30% of Americans believe it is a good idea to rejoin the 2015 Obama/Biden nuclear deal with Iran. A solid majority (56%) said we should maintain sanctions on Iran.
I have been honored to partner with Pastor John Hagee and Christians United for Israel for many years now. They are doing incredible work, which has never been more urgently needed!
