Time To Step Up
So far, only three low-level people have been indicted – former FBI lawyer Kevin Clinesmith, Clinton campaign lawyer Michael Sussmann and Steele dossier source Igor Danchenko.
But Durham is known for having a sterling reputation as a prosecutor. He wouldn't make statements he can't back up. Former Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe said that he expects more indictments from Durham.
And if some Democrats and Republicans really are so worried that our democracy is being undermined, now is the time to step up and speak out.
Barack Obama should publicly condemn the serious injustice that was perpetrated against Donald Trump. He could say, "I don't agree with the former president on anything. But all Americans should be able to agree that no president should ever be undermined like that."
Obviously, Obama isn't going to say that.
But why do I have the feeling that George W. Bush, Mitt Romney and Liz Cheney will also remain silent today? Will any of the prominent neo-cons who became Democrats in recent years admit that there are important people on the left who deserve to go to jail?
Will they admit there is growing evidence that Donald Trump was sabotaged by elements of our own government, as well as the political left?
Karl Rove, if you're reading this, why don't you give "W" a call today and ask him to step up and speak out? In fact, why don't you speak first, Karl, just to get the ball rolling!
