The Real Threat To Democracy

I want to revisit yesterday’s verdict in the Sussmann trial.  There is absolutely no doubt that Clinton campaign lawyer Michael Sussmann lied to the FBI.  He lied to the CIA too.

Well, the jury foreman let the cat out of the bag in an interview after the case was over.  She said, “I don’t think it should have been prosecuted.  There are bigger things that affect the nation than a possible lie to the FBI.”

That will come as a big surprise to Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn.  Flynn’s life was ruined over a charge of lying to the FBI.  He spent four years fighting it. 

Here’s the bottom line:  Since 2000, Republican presidential candidates have received on average about 6.7% of the vote in Washington, D.C.  Even in his 1984 landslide victory, Ronald Reagan only received 13.7% of the vote in the nation’s capital.

There is zero chance that any high-profile conservative will get a fair trial in Washington.  At the same time, it is impossible to imagine any well-known leftist being held accountable in Washington, D.C.

But we can’t miss the bigger issue.  The central foundation of this entire five-year investigation from Robert Mueller and John Durham is there for everyone to see – the Clinton campaign weaponized the FBI to take down Donald Trump. 

They worked with foreign interests, including Russians, to manufacture a dossier to promote the libelous claim that Trump won the 2016 election while colluding with Russia and that he took office compromised by Russia. 

That smear by itself is a disgusting dirty trick.  But the eager involvement of the FBI is even far more serious. 

Elements of the Justice Department and our intelligence agencies willingly exploited the enormous power they’ve been given to protect us from foreign enemies and they used it against Trump and his administration. 

That’s not a dirty trick.  That is a Deep State coup against the duly elected president of the United States.  That did more to undermine and threaten democracy in America than anything Vladimir Putin could ever dream of.

This is what cannot and must not be ignored.

I believe this was done because of Trump’s open criticism of endless, no-win wars that the Washington establishment led us into.  More importantly, his oft-repeated goal of “making America great again” flies in the face of the globalist agenda that has taken hold in virtually every western democracy. 

Trump had to be destroyed, just like the left wants to destroy the millions of Americans who support him.

This verdict yesterday is another reason that half of the country no longer trusts our own government, and why millions of Americans of all racial groups and backgrounds feel a need to take steps to ensure they can defend themselves if the country continues down the path it is currently on.
