The Left’s War On Normalcy

I want to revisit the shocking spectacle in the Senate this week between Sen. Josh Hawley and Berkeley Law Professor Khiara Bridges. Their exchange should be a wakeup call for every freedom-loving American.

This highly educated law professor was testifying before the Senate on abortion. But when she spoke, she referred to “people with the capacity for pregnancy.” 

Sen. Hawley asked Professor Bridges to clarify if she was in fact referring to women. It was a good thing he asked because she wasn’t necessarily referring to women. 

The professor insisted, “There are also trans-men who are capable of pregnancy as well as non-binary people who are capable of pregnancy.”

When Senator Hawley attempted to follow up by asking if the left no longer saw abortion as a “women’s rights issue,” Professor Bridges attacked him. She accused Hawley of committing “violence” against the trans community. 

Now here’s why you should care about this bizarre moment in a Senate hearing. 

First, it shows just how committed the left is in its war on normalcy. It shows how much of a threat to free speech and free thought the left truly is. 

This law professor immediately accused a senator of being responsible for violence because, like most normal people, he knows that only women get pregnant!

Second, it shows you what our children and grandchildren are dealing with on our university campuses. This professor tried to intimidate a senator into silence. Imagine how she treats the students in her classroom!

But it’s not just radical college campuses. School districts all over America are forcing young kids to use preferred pronouns or to call a girl a boy if that’s what she demands. 

They’re forcing our children to lie! And they will force all of us to lie because that’s what Marxists do. 

To the left there is no such thing as truth. Moral relativism is a pillar of Marxist, socialist, progressive thought. Truth is whatever the left tells you it is. 

In George Orwell’s famous novel 1984, Big Brother demands that you say 2 + 2 = 5. It’s so absurd and outrageous, nothing like that could ever happen in real life, right? 

Well, today, the left insists that a developing baby in the womb is not a human being worthy of protection, and the person carrying the baby is not actually a woman. Moreover, the left demands that you must believe both of those lies or you will be labeled a bigot or worse.

That is textbook totalitarianism, and it was on display in the Senate this week for the whole country to see.
