The Left’s Hate

When Judge Brett Kavanaugh was nominated for the Supreme Court, progressive politicians and their media allies attempted to assassinate his character. They went so far as to accuse him of “gang rape.” They allowed that horrifically offensive charge to be paraded on national television in front of his wife and daughters. But that was just the beginning.

 

In March of 2020, when the Supreme Court was considering another abortion decision, Senate Democrat Leader Chuck Schumer went to the steps of the Supreme Court in front of a left-wing mob. He pointed back at the court and declared:

 

“I want to tell you Gorsuch, I want to tell you Kavanaugh: You have released the whirlwind, and you will pay the price. You won’t know what hit you if you go forward with these awful decisions.”

 

It’s not unusual in a charged political campaign for both sides to use aggressive rhetoric. “We’re targeting Congressman X” or “We’re going to take out Senator Y.” 

 

But Supreme Court justices aren’t in campaigns. They serve for life. What possible meaning could Schumer’s words have -- “You will pay the price” and “You won’t know what hit you” -- other than threats of some kind?

 

Even mushy Chief Justice John Roberts condemned Schumer’s remarks as threatening and unacceptable. 

 

Once again, the media are guilty of malfeasance. That clip of Schumer’s threat would have been the most obvious statement to run as a way of informing the public about the context of yesterday’s shocking news. But they didn’t do it. 

 

Now consider this mental exercise. As you know, progressives want to pack the Supreme Court with at least four more left-wing hacks. (Again, they can’t tolerate any opposition. They intend to rule or ruin.) 

 

But what if Kavanaugh or Clarence Thomas had gone to the steps of the Capitol and said, “Schumer, you’re going to reap the whirlwind. You won’t know what hit you. You will pay the price if you try to touch the Supreme Court”?  The media would be apoplectic. That justice would be impeached. 

 

And if someone later attempted to assassinate Chuck Schumer, all you would see over and over and over again would be that clip of that justice saying those words.
