The Ayatollah’s Payoff

Numerous reports indicate that the United States and its European allies are on the verge of accepting a new nuclear deal with Iran. That would be a terrible mistake, and our Israeli allies are sounding the alarm.

Speaking on Fox & Friends yesterday, former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu denounced Biden’s nuclear deal with Iran as “a horrible deal, a dangerous deal that will pave Iran’s path [to a nuclear arsenal] with gold. . . It’s even worse than the first [Obama/Biden Iran deal].”

Netanyahu is not alone in his concern. Israel’s current left-wing leader, Prime Minister Yair Lapid, also condemned Biden’s deal, saying:

“On the table right now is a bad deal. It would give Iran a hundred billion dollars a year. . . This is a hundred billion dollars a year that will be used to undermine stability in the Middle East and spread terror around the globe. . .

“It will fund more attacks on American bases in the Middle East. It will be used to strengthen Hezbollah, Hamas, and Islamic Jihad. This money will go to the people who are trying to kill authors and thinkers in New York. And of course, it will be used to strengthen Iran’s nuclear program.

“Israel is not against any agreement. We are against this agreement, because it is a bad one. Because it cannot be accepted as it is written right now. In our eyes, it does not meet the standards set by President Biden himself: preventing Iran from becoming a nuclear state.”

Prime Minister Lapid made it clear that Israel “will act to prevent Iran from becoming a nuclear state,” adding that he will not allow the Jewish state to “live with a nuclear threat above our heads from an extremist, violent Islamist regime.”

Lapid and Netanyahu are absolutely right. Iran is an existential threat to Israel, and a threat to U.S. interests around the world.

What Biden is doing, just like what Obama did, is hurting the United States throughout the Middle East. We will not have any friends in the region when Biden is finished.

Already, countries that moved away from Iran during the Trump years are scrambling to get back on Iran’s good side. Why? Because they know Biden’s deal will supercharge Iran’s terrorist proxies throughout the region, just like the first Obama/Biden deal did. (Here and here.)

So, while the Biden Administration is trying to silence conservatives from criticizing its radical policies, claiming such criticism may cause violence, they are putting the final touches on a deal to pay off the biggest perpetrator of violence in the Middle East with hundreds of billions of dollars in sanctions relief.
