The Authoritarian Left

For the moment, Sen. Joe Manchin is resisting the left’s latest big government socialist power grab that is masquerading as a solution to “climate change.” But that’s not stopping the Marxist authoritarians of the left. They want Joe Biden to impose these policies unilaterally without Congress. 

There are serious reports coming out of the White House that Biden intends to declare a “climate emergency” sometime this week. They are pushing Biden to use emergency powers to further regulate American businesses and no doubt restrict your liberties. 

Senate Democrat Leader Chuck Schumer has been demanding this radical action for more than a year now. Other Senate liberals are clear about their goal – they want to kill the American oil and natural gas industry, sending energy costs even higher.

Massachusetts Senator Ed Markey said he wants Biden to use a climate emergency order to “stop any additional drilling on public lands in our country.” Just to be clear, less oil drilling means less gasoline for your car. That means higher prices at the pump. 

Oregon Senator Jeff Merkley said yesterday, “There is probably nothing more important for our nation and our world than for the United States to drive a bold, energetic transition in its energy economy from fossil fuels to renewable energy.” 

Well guess what, Senator Merkley? “Alternative” sources of “green energy” use oil, too!

Here’s one thing I can promise you: Whatever the White House does to dictate Biden’s “incredible transition” is guaranteed to fuel inflation and drive up your pain at the pump. As I have written many times before, your pain is Joe Biden’s plan.

What the left refuses to admit is that there is simply no “alternative” to oil and natural gas. Nuclear power could help, but the radical left won’t allow that either.

Just look at the situation in Europe right now. Our European allies are facing a “especially perilous” energy crisis of rationing and fuel shortages because they are worried Russia will cut off their supply of natural gas. 

Sadly, the only “enemy” threatening our energy supply is not in Moscow, but the Oval Office!
