Supremes Step In

This morning, the Supreme Court stepped in and settled an absurd legal dispute between the Biden administration and the state of Virginia.

When Governor Glenn Youngkin ordered state election officials to purge non-citizens from the voter rolls, the Biden Justice Department jumped into action and went into federal court seeking to block Youngkin’s order.

To be clear, the Biden administration was trying to KEEP non-citizens on Virginia’s voter rolls.

The process in Virginia is very clear and very accommodating. The law requiring state officials to clean the voter rolls was signed by then-Governor Tim Kaine, a Democrat, who is now one of the state’s two U.S. senators.

First, individuals are warned that they are missing necessary citizenship data, and they are given a chance to correct it. If they do not respond, they are removed from the voter rolls.

There is an additional safeguard. Virginia allows same-day voter registration. So, if someone can prove their citizenship, they can register and vote on Election Day.

Thankfully, the justices ruled that Virginia can remove non-citizens from its voter rolls.

But the fact that the justices had to step in at all makes it obvious that the left is 100% committed to making cheating and fraud easier. They fight every effort to guarantee the integrity of our elections.
