Speaking Of Borders

Here we go again. A group of blue-collar truckers and others are coming to Washington to demonstrate against authoritarian mandates. The protests are scheduled to coincide with Biden's State of the Union address next week, and the left is freaking out.

Just to remind you, people coming to Washington, demonstrating outside the White House, on the National Mall and tying up traffic, has been a common feature of our Republic. It is an example that you can see with your eyes and hear with your ears of our freedom of speech, freedom of assembly and the right to petition our government. 

Young Americans have demonstrated for college debt relief.  Older Americans have demonstrated for greater Social Security benefits. Thousands of leftist women demonstrated against Donald Trump after his inauguration. Thousands of pro-life Americans demonstrate every year for the sanctity of life. 

Demonstrating in our nation's capital is as American as apple pie!

But now in Joe Biden's America, just like Justin Trudeau's Canada, the normal rights we have always taken for granted are suddenly under attack by the authoritarian left. 

So, the same liberal politicians who don't want a wall on the southern border are putting up another fence around the Capitol Building. And the same liberal politicians who refuse to deploy the military to defend our border are calling out the National Guard to defend the borders of Washington, D.C. and Capitol Hill.

Clearly, this is another example of the left attempting to criminalize conservative dissent. Whether D.C. commuters get stuck in traffic or not is beside the point. We should respect any peaceful group that exercises their constitutional rights. 

If Biden were smart, he would authorize Jen Paski to say something like this:

"We've heard about the group of truckers coming to Washington. We're reaching out to their leadership and inviting them to attend the State of the Union address in person as the president's guests. The White House is concerned about the issues important to working Americans, and we think they would be interested in our agenda."

After all, Joe Biden used to be a truck driver. Not!

But I don't believe there is any chance that will happen. I don't believe the modern left cares about working-class Americans. Many working-class and rural Americans certainly aren't feeling any love from the left.

Sadly, I believe that the president and the left are increasingly afraid of working-class Americans who are resisting their insane woke agenda. As one senator recently put it, "It's not liberal versus conservative anymore. It's crazy versus normal."
