Silencing Debate

The left is at it again. When corruption in the FBI is exposed and demands for reform are made, leftist bureaucrats and their media allies immediately scream, “You’re going to cause violence!”

When conservatives opposed the massive increase for the IRS in the Manchin/Schumer climate bill, leftist bureaucrats and their media allies screamed, “You’re going to cause violence!”  

Well, now we’re learning that the IRS has launched a full security review because extremist rhetoric is supposedly threatening their agents. 

Don’t miss the big picture. The radical left and its media allies are always looking for ways to criminalize conservative speech. They don’t want a debate where the moderator is on their side. We have those all the time. They want to make it impossible to articulate conservative beliefs. 

This is the same impulse that leads a college professor during a Senate hearing to accuse a senator of threatening violence against women who claim to be men when he questions whether men can get pregnant.

So, if you question corruption in the FBI, you’re threatening FBI agents. 

If you question the size of the IRS, you’re threatening IRS agents. 

If you don’t think men can get pregnant, you’re responsible for violence against trans people. 

If you believe that marriage is between a man and a woman, you’re a bigot and responsible for violence against gay people. 

If you believe that life is sacred, you’re a misogynist and responsible for violence against women. 

Do you see the pattern? The list goes on and on. 

I was thinking this morning how much we all miss Rush Limbaugh. He would be making mincemeat out of this argument and helping all of us to fight back.

But why aren’t elected conservatives pushing back more forcefully? Perhaps they have been conditioned to be timid.

Sadly, too many Beltway consultants constantly urge conservative candidates to avoid cultural issues because the left will attack them and accuse them of “extremism.” The left does that anyway!

And now liberals are accusing us of violence when we push back against big government. So, can we not debate the size of government anymore? The Marxist left would love that!

We can’t cower before the left’s threats and intimidation!
