Rewarding Terror

Three European countries with far-left governments – Ireland, Norway, and Spain – just declared that they were recognizing a non-existent “Palestinian state.” They claim this will help bring about peace in the region. They are wrong.

All they have done is reward Hamas for its horrific attack on Israel on October 7th. That’s the lesson that will be learned – attack Israel, get a state.

Of course, their far-left declaration is exactly what our own far-left government is demanding. And I have no doubt that the Biden White House and State Department worked behind the scenes to make today’s joint statement happen.

Don’t fall for the myth that the “two-state solution” is the only way to bring peace. Polls show that the Palestinian people are not interested in peace with Israel or even a piece of Israel.

They do not want a separate state. They want the nation of Israel to be their country. That’s what “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free” means. It means no Israel.

Don’t forget that Israel unilaterally withdrew from Gaza nearly 20 years ago. Israel did not get peace for giving up that land.

The Palestinians had 20 years and billions and billions of foreign aid dollars to transform Gaza. They transformed it into an Islamist hellhole.

First, they voted for the terrorists of Hamas to be their government. Then they used all that foreign aid not to build schools, hospitals, roads, and bridges but to build tunnels and to buy weapons.

They turned Gaza not into a functioning state but into a launching pad for more terrorist attacks on Israel.

That’s why there is little support for a “two-state solution” in Israel among either the political left or the right.
