Pray For The Persecuted Church
Many of us get frustrated when the church parking lot doesn’t have enough spaces. But in many places around the world, Christians will walk several miles on Sunday to go to a church with no air conditioning or heat. They also know that when they cross the church threshold with their family, it may be the last thing they do on earth.
Across the Middle East and Africa Christians are murdered every Sunday because they are followers of Jesus Christ. As a former Trump appointee to the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom, I am all too aware of the dangers many Christians endure for a right far too many Americans take for granted.
As a country, we have sent more missionaries abroad to bring the Good News of Jesus to people who became Christians in every nation of the world. But we can’t abandon them now when they are persecuted.
There is genocide of Christians in Nigeria, and the Biden administration won’t lift a finger to do anything about it. They are more interested in pressuring countries like Nigeria to accept same-sex marriage than letting people worship in peace.
This Sunday, November 3rd, is the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church. Click here for more information.
If your pastor does not mention Christian persecution overseas this Sunday, please encourage him to make it a priority in future sermons and to plan early for next year's International Day of Prayer.
