Our Woke Military
A U.S. nuclear submarine operating in international waters near Taiwan recently was damaged after it collided with a submerged object. These very expensive submarines have all kinds of sophisticated, high-tech equipment to ensure that they don't collide with anything. So, this collision is cause for serious concern.
The Navy eventually determined that the sub ran into an uncharted mountain. Seriously? Needless to say, the sub's top three officers were relieved of duty. This was just the latest in a string of Navy accidents on the high seas in recent years.
Many critics, including me, believe our brave men and women in our military are not being served well by their leadership. Gender politics and left-wing ideology has increasingly become part of our military culture, just like our culture generally.
When Donald Trump tried to stop the push for open transgenderism in the military, there was serious pushback from top commanders. You may remember the old recruiting slogan, "Be all you can be." Apparently, some of our woke officers think our new slogan is, "Be anything you want to be," even if that's a man wearing a dress.
Coincidentally, the Navy christened the USS Harvey Milk last week. The ship is one of six new support vessels to be named after civil rights leaders. There couldn't be any more evidence of the military's wokeness.
How did Harvey Milk earn his spurs as a "civil rights" leader? He was one of the first openly gay men to be elected to public office in California. Milk was well-known for his preference for teenage boys. And he's supposed to be a "model" in today's military?
Speaking of ships, our satellites just discovered that communist China is getting ready to launch its third aircraft carrier. It appears to be very sophisticated, "nearly equaling the capabilities of U.S. counterparts."
We also discovered that communist China is building ships in the middle of a desert. As we reported yesterday, these vessels are props for target practice. Communist China is preparing for war.
So, while the U.S. gay rights movement is celebrating its new ship, the Chinese communists are working hard to sink all of our ships.
Just another reason why our work to defend our values and restore American greatness is so essential.
