NYC vs. History

New York City is confronting an illegal migrant crisis. Mayor Eric Adams has not minced words. He is warning that the 20,000 illegal aliens pouring into his city every month will “destroy” his city. 

Adams estimates that it will cost taxpayers $12 billion over the next two years to pay for people who shouldn’t be there, and may force the city to cut its budget by 15%.

So, what is the New York City Council doing in the middle of this crisis? 

It held an urgent session yesterday to discuss tearing down any historical statue or monument in any way connected to people who owned slaves or benefitted from slavery over the course of our nation’s history.

Sadly, this isn’t new. 

The city infamously removed a statue of Teddy Roosevelt from the front of the Natural History Museum because some felt the statue was demeaning to indigenous people. Roosevelt’s father, by the way, was one of the founders of New York’s Natural History Museum.

Bill de Blasio, the previous Marxist mayor who honeymooned in communist Cuba, removed a statue of Thomas Jefferson from City Hall.

Now they are going after George Washington, who liberated occupied New York City from the British. Washington said farewell to his troops at Fraunces Tavern, which you can still visit in New York City today.

Donald Trump predicted all this when the left started tearing down statues of Robert E. Lee. He said, “This week, it’s Robert E. Lee. . . I wonder, is George Washington next week, and is it Thomas Jefferson the week after?  You really do have to ask yourself: ‘Where does it stop?’” 

Trump was mocked at the time, even by some Republicans. Former Speaker Nancy Pelosi seemingly defended the attacks on historical monuments, saying, “People will do what they do.” Wow! What a pathetic “defense” of America. 

As I have noted before, the destruction of historic monuments was the final act of the left’s war on the founding of America. The first act in that war has been taking place in our classrooms for years as neo-Marxist indoctrinators demonized our founding fathers and erased from the hearts of our children their love of country.

The mobs we saw tearing down statues and historic monuments were created years ago in the classrooms of America. They were acting out what they were taught.

Every conservative elected official at every level of office and every pastor should be hammering the neo-Marxist left’s culture war against America and normalcy EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.

Twenty-two years ago, Osama bin Laden and his Islamic supremacist barbarians flew hijacked planes into iconic American buildings. We built new buildings and destroyed Al Qaeda.

These homegrown neo-Marxist barbarians are driving bulldozers through the remembrances of America’s heroes. It will be a lot harder to reclaim this ground and save America.
