Not Funny

Comedian Stephen Colbert is well-known for his political comedy.  Perhaps it came naturally to him being a native of Washington, D.C.  Unfortunately, Mr. Colbert has spent so much time in the left-wing echo chamber that he doesn’t even recognize the truth any more. 

Last week, the “Late Show” host mocked Tudor Dixon, the Republican candidate for governor of Michigan.  Dixon said in a debate that a man had approached her saying he was outraged over a pornographic book he found in a school library. 

Colbert refused to believe her.  He ridiculed Dixon, saying that she “totally made up” the man.  After playing a video of her debate statement, he sarcastically said, “Okay, fine, that happened.”

Well, it actually did happen.  Khalil Othman, a Yemeni immigrant, did approach Tudor Dixon about an obscene book he found in a school library.  Othman told the Detroit Free Press:

"To claim that I'm not here, I don't exist, I'm not human, that's absolute ignorance.  If [Colbert] did his due diligence . . . or had his team do a little bit of research of who's this person who attended Dixon's rally, they will be able to find my name right away easy on social media. Just Google it."

Perhaps CBS should fire Stephen Colbert for spreading disinformation!
