Durham Isn’t Done

A northern Virginia jury yesterday, unfortunately, acquitted Igor Danchenko, who lied to the FBI about the Steele dossier and the Russia collusion hoax.  This is the second high-profile trial Special Counsel John Durham has lost, and likely signals the end of his investigation.  But he’s not done yet.

There is a silver lining here.  It’s not satisfying, but it’s something.

When you look at what Durham accomplished in the course of his investigation, from the guilty plea of a former FBI lawyer to his two trials, he has outlined the evidence of serious corruption within the FBI.

A central pillar of Durham’s mandate is to issue a final report on what he discovered, and what we already know is a damning indictment of the FBI

I fully expect the Durham report will be explosive.  Not surprisingly, some Democrats are already trying to quash the report

But it will provide the basis for serious oversight investigations by the new Republican Congress.  And, two years from now, it will provide a blueprint for a new Republican president to clean out the political corruption that has consumed the FBI.
