Climate Panic Heating Up

The United Nation’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change just released its 6^th 4,000-page assessment report. I can summarize it for you: We are all going to die unless we allow more big government, more regulations, more socialism, and less freedom. Only if we do that now, right now, immediately, do we have a chance to save ourselves, maybe.

The frustrated climate alarmists are making it clear there is no time for debate. The science is settled, they say. But science demands that all orthodoxies be constantly challenged. And the truth is we were told we had only 10 years left in 1970, 1980, 1990, etc. etc.

By the way, in 1970 the “experts” said we were heading into a new ice age and we would all freeze to death. In the 80s and 90s they switched to global warming and we were all going to burn. Now the mantra is “climate change.”

At least they will be right on this because climate does change over the centuries with regular patterns of warming and cooling.

Professor Steven Koonin at New York University sums it up well. Writing in the Wall Street Journal this morning, he concluded “Good science is characterized by detail, data, proven models and reasoned debate. That takes time. Meanwhile, we should be wary of the torrent of hyperbole that is sweeping the globe.”
