Cautiously Optimistic

During yesterday’s Supreme Court arguments over the use of sterilizing drugs and mutilating surgeries on children, the court’s liberal justices put the left’s extremism on full display.

Justice Jackson, who can’t define what a woman is, said that opposing mutilating children is the moral equivalent of opposing interracial marriage. Once again, the left is determined to turn normalcy into bigotry as it “fundamentally transforms” America.

The worst statement came from Justice Sonia Sotomayor, who suggested that taking powerful sterilizing chemicals to prevent normal puberty was just like taking aspirin.

That is unbelievably ignorant. These drugs increase the risk of blood clots, heart disease, osteoporosis, and cancer. Researchers are only now beginning to consider the potential risk of brain damage.

Aspirin has been used for over 100 years. Transgender procedures are radical medical experiments with very little credible science behind them. That’s why England and other European nations are slamming the brakes on these “treatments.”

We’re told over and over again that denying these “treatments” to children will cause them to commit suicide. That “emotional extortion” was totally debunked in yesterday’s hearing.

Justice Samuel Alito raised the weakness of what little “supporting research” exists. Under his withering questioning, the transgender ACLU attorney was forced to admit that “There is no evidence in the studies that this treatment reduces completed suicide. The reason for that is completed suicide is . . . admittedly rare.”

In fact, a significant study from Europe found that transgender treatments did not reduce the risk of suicide. The study did find that higher rates of suicide were related to “a higher rate of severe psychiatric problems, not to their gender distress.”

In other words, these extreme transgender “treatments” are treating the wrong thing!

Here’s the bottom line: We are cautiously optimistic that there is at least a five-vote majority on the court that will allow states to protect children from this insanity.

I certainly hope so because leftist politicians in some states are attempting to turn parents into criminals and seize their children if they don’t accept the lie that boys can be girls.
