Biden’s Bad Week

Last week was a terrible week for Joe Biden and a disastrous week for America as a communist Chinese spy balloon traveled across our country. And it continued to be a disaster over the weekend.

First, the Biden Administration tried to coverup the balloon. They didn’t say anything publicly until a Montana resident posted a video of it on social media.

Then, it took days for the Biden Administration to finally shoot the balloon down. But less than 24 hours later, they were claiming that it was really no big deal. Why? Because the same thing supposedly happened three times “briefly” during the Trump Administration, but the balloons “went undetected.”

That makes no sense! If the balloons weren’t detected, how do we know that three of them entered U.S. airspace? And why weren’t they detected?

Every major national security official in the Trump Administration, including the president himself and some who are no longer fans of Trump, have come forward to blast this latest claim as a flat out lie.

So, we’re left with two possibilities.

Either the Biden Administration is playing politics with national security, or Deep State operatives in the Pentagon never told Trump officials that Chinese spy balloons had crossed into U.S. airspace. Either explanation is totally unacceptable.

So, I would again urge House Republicans to use their subpoena power to put these Pentagon officials under oath and demand answers! (See next item.)

Some Biden Administration officials initially tried to downplay the seriousness of the spy balloon by suggesting that satellites could do everything the balloon could do. So, there’s nothing to worry about.

Of course, it’s difficult for the untrained person to understand how a balloon could be more effective than high-tech satellites. Well, the balloon can hover, and it did.

But assuming that a satellite is just as effective, why then did communist China risk an international incident if there wasn’t some significant benefit?

I’ve been around government long enough with a high security classification, and I have seen facilities that few ever do. I know enough to tell you that there are all kinds of possibilities.

Beijing might have been testing to see if a balloon could be used as a weapon in the conflict it is planning for. It’s possible the communist Chinese are testing our reaction time, while their spy satellites monitored our communications as the balloon approached sensitive sites.

They may have been using a layered system of weapons, which is common in spying. It’s also possible that communist China had assets on the ground in Montana.

Here’s another unnerving prospect. What if the purpose was not to collect information but to deposit something? What if a small package was dropped containing viral agents to be dispersed in a U.S. city?

Are U.S. intelligence agents thinking outside the box? We have been routinely surprised and caught off guard by Chinese advances in the past.

After 9/11, the military was criticized for having so few fighters on alert. When we were attacked by hijacked planes inside our own country, we had to reorient our fighter jets to deal with an attack from inside our borders, not outside. And the first fighter jets scrambled to protect Washington, D.C., went up unarmed.

Pentagon officials said the criticism was unfair. “Who would ever imagine that someone would use our own planes against us,” they asked rhetorically. Well, it has been a common theme of booksmovies and TV shows. But the Pentagon was clueless and unprepared.

If we learned nothing else last week, we learned that communist China isn’t afraid of Joe Biden. Wars happen when your enemies no longer fear you and your friends no longer respect you.
